“He couldn't tell me whether the fish could be cleaned (which I'd expect to be a standard service from a fishmonger), couldn't answer basic questions about where some of the seafood had come from, and even left halfway through serving my order to start someone else's.”

“Customers are often required to buy larger quantities than they actually want (eg requests to cut massive fillets in half denied; fish being prepackaged on trays as large quantities) making it difficult to just buy what you need.”

“I ordered fish and chips and the staff member didn’t bother asking whether I wanted it battered or breaded — he just made it however he felt like, without checking with me at all.”
